Idea

What pushed Savlon to come up with this idea is the fact that access to handwash and soaps outside of homes is often limited. To ensure that kids follow healthy hand hygiene without being forced to carry a soap or handwash bottle with them, the brand came up with the ‘Savlon ID Guard’ that turned the kids’ ID cards into soap dispensers.

Objective

Objective

Millions of kids do not wash their hands in school because they do not have access to soaps. This poor hand hygiene leads to kids succumbing to a number of diseases every year. With ID Guard, Savlon aims to encourage kids to get into the handwashing habit by making it more accessible and fun.

This is how Savlon does it

In government schools, it is compulsory for kids to carry ID cards. To make handwashing more simple and accessible, Savlon took charge of these ID cards and repurposed them into ID Guards that dispensed soap. Savlon ID Guard is a pouch that combined the id-card with an easily replaceable handwash sachet. The ID-Guard became a permanent part of the school uniform and kids enjoyed squeezing the handwash out of their IDs. This made them use it more often. Because using the ID-Guard is fun, it establishes a long-term relationship between kids and hand hygiene.
